We want you to standout from the crowd. To do this we have put together our Direct Job Tips, the key to your success.
1. Employers want to know why you are looking for work and what role you want
It’s important you list off your formal qualifications, licences, industry experience and ensuring your most recent roles are listed with the skills you were undertaking on a day-to-day basis, such as a White Card, Forklift Ticket or Trade Certificate etc.
2. Tidy up your Resume
When looking for jobs it’s important you apply with a resume that is up to date, we want to know what skills and attributes you have. Hot Tip – check the resume you have loaded into your job board profile – it may well be 2 years old! When it comes to listing off skills and attributes, you should have a look at the job advertisement and make sure that you suit the criteria and requirements.

Don’t forget your reference checks. It’s important for us to hear feedback on your last role through former supervisors and managers.

3. Be responsive to our calls and questions
When you’re on the job hunt you will find that you receive several calls to have an initial conversation, it is at this point we want to hear your eagerness and passion about finding your next role. When doing initial phone interviews, we recommend you take your time with your answers and offer in depth responses as if you were in a face-to-face interview. If you are offered an interview at this stage, it is important that you demonstrate flexibility to make it to the interview and commit to it. This will show your eagerness over the phone and set the scene for the face-to-face interview.
4. Present well in the interview stage
Personal presentation is valued in an interview when meeting your potential employer for the first time. It isn’t just about what you wear, it is about your body language and your communication.
It is important that you present well at the interview. Regardless of the role & industry, you should always put effort into your appearance. No thongs & singlets! Your body language is just as important as it can show your confidence and ability to communicate. This includes making eye contact, shaking someone’s hand, politely smiling and being friendly. We want to know that you’re open to a good laugh, are personable and you can fit in with the culture of any team.
5. Show Excitement and Motivation for your new career opportunities
If you are offered a role, it is important that you show excitement, and you get prepared for your first day on the job. Be responsive with what we need from you prior to commencement such as engaging in any training, providing us with documents and getting the appropriate uniform requirements sorted. Just remember, we are here to help you get a job and want you to be just as excited as we are!
